Norwegian member of the International Council of IAP

For the first time since our membership in 1982 is Norway represented in a central board of the International Academy of Pathology.

At the anniversary meeting of IAP in Montreal 2006, prof. Jahn M. Nesland was elected member of the International Council, as one of four members from Europe. The other three members from Europe are Günter Klöppel from Germany, Kristin Henry from the United Kingdom and George Kontogeorgos from Greece.

Professor Jahn M Nesland has been Head of Departement of Pathology at the Norwegian Radium Hospital in Oslo, now renamed The National Hospital-Norwegian Radium Hospital, since 1994. He  has a long and extensive experience from work in different committees and editorial boards world wide in the field of Pathology and has been a member of the Norwegian Division of IAP since its foundation in 1982. Among his many positions, we would like to emphasize his active participation in The European Society of Pathology, where he, amongst many other tasks in the Society, held the position as Secretary General from 1999-2003. His international engagement, both in organizations and scientifically, is well documented.
